If you noticed something different about that title, you are not mistaken. In an effort to keep things fresh and to make sure you know what you’re getting into when you start reading, I’m going to introduce a new section of the blog. I’ll call this new part, “Morning Musings” (with many thanks to Ron for the title).
As you may have observed along the way, sometimes the Quick Takes weren’t so quick. Whatever the topic may have been required a little more space to fully flesh out my thoughts on it. Sometimes, though, they were indeed quick takes. Going forward, to help you know which is which, the shorter pieces formerly known as “Quick Takes” are going to become “Morning Musings,” while the longer reflections will be called “Digging in Deeper.” One or the other (and sometimes both) will still go up about every day, but now you’ll have a little better idea what you are getting into when you start reading. If you have just a minute, go for the Morning Musing. If you have a bit more time to reflect with me, Digging in Deeper will be the place to go. And, because of nature of the topics will require more thought, Digging in Deeper entries will often be focused on issues that are hot topics today.
With all of that said, let’s get to the first Morning Musing…
“Understand, O dullest of the people! Fools, when will you be wise? He who planted the ear, does he not hear? He who formed the eye, does he not see? He who disciplines the nations, does he not rebuke? He who teaches man knowledge–the Lord–knows the thoughts of man, that they are but a breath.” (ESV – Read the chapter)
If you have sinned in some way, do not think that God will not notice or that you will get away with it indefinitely. God sees. God knows. God will hold you to account. Even the secret things will be revealed one day and we will be made to stand and account for each of them. The best bet we have is to come clean now and walk away from them, never to look back. Walk in righteousness so that when the time for judging comes, you have nothing to fear.
